English Challenge - Tuesday 12th May
Today we are going to revisit conjunctions.
Have a look at the revision sheet below and then have a go at the questions that follow.
Copy the sentences below, highlight the conjunction and then state whether it has been used to express time, place or cause.
1. The elephant went to the lake because it was thirsty.
2. After they had eaten their lunch, the children went out to play.
3. The children went on to the playground where they decided to play football.
4. Daniel was successful at cricket as no-one could get him out.
5. Before she did her work, Mai asked if she could go to the toilet.
6. Wherever the children looked, they could not find the missing coat.
7. Olivia thought of an excuse so she didn't have to do her home learning.
8. When his mum came looking, Jack pretended to be asleep.
9. Now, wherever Kian goes, people admire his new trainers.
10. The teacher stood in silence since she was so disappointed with the class.
Can you finish these sentences using a conjunction and a second clause. Try to use a different conjunction each time.
