Science Challenge - Tuesday 19th May

Hello year 4,

Last week with Mr Deakin you looked at human teeth. This week I would like to look at animal teeth. I would like you to sketch and write about two animals with very different teeth. For example sharks teeth are very different to hippopotamus teeth.

These animals have very different diets and as a result their teeth need to be shaped differently. The shark also has many more teeth arranged in rows. Some animals you might consider researching include:

Beavers
Narwhals
Crocodiles
Poisonous snakes such as a cobra.
Giraffes

Information you might research and write about could include:
* What the animal eats
* The shape and size of the teeth
* The number of teeth
* Are the teeth replaced at any point in the animals life?

Good luck and don't forget to take pictures of any interesting research and e-mail it to the blog.

Mr H.
