Wednesday 22nd April - English Challenge (Grammar - Verbs)

Good morning!

Welcome to today's English challenge. We will be continuing to look at some grammar rules today with a look at how to use verbs in our writing.

If you have forgotten what a verb is check this video out:

Now have a go at identifying the verbs in these sentences. Write out the sentences and then highlight or underline the verb in the sentence.

If you watched the video closely you will have noticed that verbs can be written in different tenses to show when things are happening. For example:

Walked - Past tense 

Walking - Present tense

(going to walk) - Future tense

Watch out though as some verbs change in odd ways. We call these irregular verbs.

For example we don't say gived we use GAVE instead.

Copy these sentences and add the verb at the end in the correct tense to fit the sentence.
